Sunbird Mountain Retreat boasts a unique combination of sophistication & relaxation, iIsolated from the rush of everyday life, lying in  a forested paradise on the back slope of Table Mountain, bordered by the Table Mountain & Orangekloof Nature Reserves.
Bed & Breakfast Accommodation
The 5 bedroomed Guest House consists of three en suite upstairs rooms & the downstairs family room consisting of 2  adjoining rooms. The three upstairs queen or twin bedded rooms have an en suite bathroom, including separate bath & shower & opening balconies with magnificent mountain & forest views. Adjoining each room are specially designed, private opening balconies with comfortable recliners for soaking up the ambience. Rooms are equipped with Television and Coffee making facilities.
Our downstairs family room consists of 2 spacious adjoining rooms, one containing a queen bed & the other 2 separate twin beds, with shower & toilet facilities. There is also a wide approximately 1,5m dressing area running the length of both rooms & TV's in both bedrooms. Stable doors lead onto a patio and from here it is a short walk to our secluded pool lying in an amphitheater created by the surrounding mountains, offering stunning views & a sense "being at one with nature.
Ken prepares a scrumptious breakfast taking into consideration any particular requirements & this is served either in our sunny breakfast room or outside under the trees.
The accommodation is spacious, modern and tastefully decorated to a high standard and provides the perfect setting in which to relax.
The  Guest House is available for rent on a self catering basis for groups of 8 to 10 people & the 3 self catering units are most suited to couples or couples with 1 to 2 children.
Self Catering Apartments
These units are one bed roomed units with en suite shower & toilet and open plan kitchen & lounge. All self catering units have a spacious, restful yet colourful feel, with themes taken from nature. The kitchens are tastefully equipped with 4 plate hobs, microwave ovens & combined fridge & freezer units. Neat clean cut bathrooms contain glass panel showers & offer magnificent forest & mountain vistas.
There are open large balconies for relaxing, sunbathing etc. & numerous outdoor areas eg. at the Koi pond under the trees.
Our ground floor unit has a veranda & a lovely lawn under the trees in front of it. Great for the little children to play on & we will put out a camp cot for children 2 years & under.
Our upstairs units sport unimpaired mountain & forest views & as they share a common entrance can be utilised by a family group as 1 large unit.
Our Upstairs units have a small sleeping loft containing one or two  comfortable mattresses, most suitable for children 6-7 years & older. Please note that the unit is an open plan unit. 
The self catering apartments are a short walk ( 50 metres) from the main Guest House & the pool.
Our secluded pool lies in an amphitheater created by the surrounding mountains, offering stunning views & a sense "being at one with nature".
It is a short walk from here onto the mountains, to enjoy the many splendours that each season offers, ranging from the delicate Disa orchid to the bubbling waterfall & river.
We are within easy access of the breathtakingly beautiful attractions of the Peninsula. Such highlights as Kirstenbosh, The Constantia Wine Route, the quaint Hout Bay fishing village, spectacular Chapman''s Peak as well as the secluded sandy beaches of Llandudno, Sandy Bay and Long Beach. The exciting Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and the beautiful City of Cape Town with its many attractions and bustling night life, are a short drive away and in Hout Bay are superb restaurants to fit all budgets. Within 20 - 30 minutes drive from False Bay suburbs, Simonstown our naval base, Kalk Bay a quaint small fishing harbour, Boulders Beach with its Penguin colony & Cape Point, where the Indian & Atlantic Oceans meet.
